TEST Coordinator, Employee Recruitment

Duties:
Reporting to the HR Specialist, Recruitment and EDI, the Coordinator, Employee Recruitment performs duties and tasks related to the full cycle recruitment process for internal and external job competitions; maintains recruitment tools and resources, and related reports and spreadsheets. In collaboration with the HR team, the Recruitment Coordinator acts as the first point of recruitment and selection contact, provides subject matter expertise and support to hiring leaders or departments and ensures the staffing needs of the University are met in a timely manner. This position also provides training and support to staff, managers and search committee members.
Responsible for providing client-focused recruitment marketing advice and support to campus partners that is in-line with organizational policies, procedures and requirements, the incumbent will assist with the development and maintenance of VIU's employee recruiting presence. Using a diverse mix of multimedia recruiting tools and sourcing strategies they will promote the value of working for the organization and promote the institutional brand to attract candidates. The incumbent will collaborate closely with faculties and service departments to develop a partnership for a successful pre-employment experience with Vancouver Island University.
Required Qualifications:
Two-year diploma in Human Resources, or a related discipline, from an appropriately accredited institution, and minimum three years' recent relevant work experience in a complex, unionized environment. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of major HR functions, including planning, developing and implementing recruitment-related projects.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to increasing accessibility, equity, and diversity.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to conduct group presentations.
- Sound working knowledge of database management, basic contract application and interpretation, records documentation and data/records maintenance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of confidential office practices and procedures; Information management skills to establish and maintain files.
- Detail-oriented with an aptitude for metrics.
- Creative problem solving and adaptability.
- A deep understanding of the importance of strong client service, high-quality work, and honoring deadlines.
- Experience with social media platforms, job promotion and navigating job boards.

- Certified Human Resources Professional designation
